Pre-K through 2nd Grade
Our primary school runs Pre-kindergarten (no-ESA option, sorry) through Grade Two and is designed to honor childhood while laying the academic foundations students need for confident, joyful learning. At this stage, we focus on mastery of core skills, rich language exposure, and a love of learning—without rushing children beyond what is developmentally appropriate.
Learning is relational, thoughtful, and intentionally paced, allowing students to grow in confidence, curiosity, and competence.
Reading
We use All About Reading and All About Spelling, two highly structured, phonics-based programs that build strong decoding, fluency, and spelling skills. These programs are multisensory, systematic, and mastery-based, ensuring students truly understand how language works rather than relying on guessing or memorization.
Mathematics
Our math instruction is grounded in MEP Math, a concept-rich program that emphasizes mathematical thinking, number sense, and problem-solving. Daily videos with lessons are uploaded for students to practice (Pre-K is twice a week). Students develop a deep understanding of mathematical ideas while building accuracy and confidence through guided practice. We supplement with Singapore Dimensions Math as needed, and support using Miquon Math and manipulatives.
Core Studies
For science, social studies, literature, and geography, we use Beyond the Page, an engaging, literature-rich curriculum that integrates reading, hands-on activities, discussion, and creative expression. This approach allows students to make meaningful connections across subjects while developing comprehension, reasoning, and curiosity about the world.
